One of the summer’s new reality shows promises plenty of survival-based drama when it drops contestants in the middle of the wilderness to fend for themselves and we’ve got an exclusive sneak peek at the new TNT series!

In 72 Hours – hosted by Brandon Johnson (Shake It Up) — competing teams of strangers are literally parachuted into remote locations with nothing but a single bottle of water and a GPS tracking device.

Teams are then given three days to form strategic bonds, hike across treacherous terrain, battle the elements and make difficult survival choices as they search for a hidden briefcase full of $100,000 cash.

So…What is “72 Hours?”

The basics:

9 strangers. Dropped in remote locations all over the world. Given a GPS, a 2-Way radio, a bottle of water & 72 hours to find a briefcase full of money.

Sounds pretty simple right?

The premise is simple, but the subsequent journey? Not quite. We’re talking a survival of the fittest-style competition where contestants are battling the most treacherous of elements AND each other for $100,000; where strategy, will and the ability to cooperate with complete strangers will dictate success or failure.

What makes it different from other reality shows?

Each week audiences are transported to different (ubelieveable) locations with a fresh cast of characters, all battling the newest variety of elements that Mother Nature can hurl at them. It’s a fast-paced thrill ride that never hits the breaks!

Brandon Johnson recently hit the grey carpet at the US Weekly Annual Hot Hollywood Style Issue party held at The Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles.
